My Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Swatch Post + Review

Good evening, loves! If you haven’t heard yet, Avon has just released a new lipstick line and its right on trend. (True Matte Eyeshadow Quads are also available but in this post, i’ll be getting lippy with the lipsticks.)

I’d like to start with saying that I have never been much of a glossy girl. I don’t care much for sticky lips that don’t provide any color with its shine. I tend to prefer the sparkle and glitz to be around my eyes. While Avon does have a few demi-matte lipsticks to the Ultra Color Lipstick line, the truth is they were lacking some shade variety. Also, demi-matte is not a true matte and so when I caught sight of the Perfectly Matte Lipsticks I got incredibly excited! There are 12 True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick shades to choose from and they are all gorgeous!

The name of this lipstick line could not be more fitting. First, True Color. Once again, Avon has done it — what you see is what you get. I appreciate that when I see a tube of Avon lipstick, I’m sure to get the same color on my lips when applied. Other brands have let me down but Avon sure hasn’t. Then, there’s the Perfectly Matte part to the name. Yes, just that — Perfectly Matte. If you are looking for a smooth yet vibrant lipstick that has lasting power without shimmer and shine, this line is for you! The True Color Perfectly Matte Lipsticks will be regularly priced at $9 each, but will launch at an intro special pricing of just $5.99 each!

Here are all 12 of the True Color Perfectly Matte Lipsticks that I “swatched out”. I always have a great time doing these swatches, even though my kids look at my like i’m crazy!

My very first impression on these lipsticks was how smoothly they applied. It was such an effortless application. I’m sure you, like myself, have experienced some waxy lip products that you have to give a great deal of pressure to, to get some kind of color out. This is not the case with these lipsticks — each shade delivers its own unique and eye-pleasing color.  I couldn’t wait to try out all 12 shades on my lips, so I “put my face on” and got my camera ready!

Starting from the bottom left corner and going to the right then straight up, Shade names: Hot Plum, Coral Fever, Perfectly Nude, Marvelous Mocha, and Ideal Lilac. My next impression of the products? Thank goodness for no sticky, harsh, chemical taste. There’s nothing worse than wearing an incredible lip color and having it become tainted due to an unpleasant taste. Also, these lipsticks have such a light feeling to them yet the color is anything but.

After applying these “First Five” I found my favorites were Hot Plum and Marvelous Mocha.  They are all gorgeous though and I can see myself wearing them all for various occasions.  Which one is your favorite out of this group? Leave a comment after the post!

Hey, beauts. Hope you all have had a great weekend! I love playing with makeup and so another lipstick swatch post is born. The Ultra Color lipstick line contains the most shades, over 60 (and 3 finishes) to choose from!

Based on the swatches, my favorite shade is Berry Cute. I love how fun Shocking Pink and Bitten are and how there is just a hint of wine colored difference to Revenge and Truffle. Power Trip is a strong red lipstick that should give confidence and strength when wearing it. The shade Heat Wave looks a bit more bright and coral colored in the tube than what showed up when swatched. 

These lipsticks smell and "taste" great when on thanks to the pomegranate extract and the feel is silky smooth. I was worried that my lips may feel tingly with the caffeine infused but i'm pleased to report that there is none such feeling. I'm very pleased with this product!

UC Indulgence Lip Color Swatches

Hey, beauties! Now is the time for me to do a lippy swatch post since the AVON Ultra Color Indulgence Lip Color is at the LOWEST PRICE EVER -- only $3.99 each! This is geared for my customers to try out so they can see if they like the color prior to making their purchase. It also works out great for me so I can try a new shade out when the mood strikes. 

Today I will be "swatching" most of the Ultra Color Indulgence Lip Color lipstick line. There are 12 indulgent shades to this line and I have 10 that I will show swatches on today. The 2 shades that I do not have on me to share with you are: In Bloom (a light golden/brown nude color) and Day Lily (a deep burgundy more purple than reddish, though).

As you can tell from my picture, I have used the Orchid Petal quite a bit! I love the fun purple shade. I don't find it to be too bright but it sure is cheerful. I've never really experienced a shade like it which is why I feel that I am most drawn to its unique color. 

Here is a collage I made up of me wearing a few of the AVON Ultra Color Indulgence, through the pass couple of months, in shades: Chocolate Rose, Rose Bouquet, Pink Blossom, and Orchid Petal :

I had so much fun wearing the Chocolate Rose shade. It was way outside my comfort zone to don such a dark brown color. I received tons of compliments while wearing it. The Rose Bouquet is a great red shade for those who wish to take that next step from lighter/darker pink shades. This shade is a perfect transition from that to the classic red lip. Pink Blossom is such a cute and girly shade! I also receive a ton of compliments when I wear this one. Then we have the Orchid Petal, which as I mentioned above, I find to be an incredibly unique shade. 

I feel that all of these lipstick shades would work on any skin tone. The UC Indulgence lipsticks are lightweight, yet provide full coverage and rich color. These lipsticks have a creamy and refreshing texture -- quite soothing to the lips!
